Meet Cheryl Johnson
I enjoy working with families and try to infuse each individual, couple and family with hope at the beginning of the counseling process. I enjoy using Solution Focused Therapy because I truly believe that every person and family that struggles has also experienced successes and victories that can be built upon to overcome their current difficulties. I also use Emotionally Focused Therapy because it helps people and couples discover the deeper meanings, values and hopes that drive their behavior and builds compassion and understanding into their relationships. I like using Gottman Theory because it has so much empirical support and helps couples deepen their understanding and appreciation for each other.
I am a graduate student counseling intern at Colorado Christian University. I am under the supervision of Christian Bringolf a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Lic# LH60533629. I hold a Master of Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and I am currently finishing my Masters in clinical mental health counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy.
